Dear JoeSuch a strange day to tell you about today. We spent most of the day in Colchester, taking Sofie into the castle and the park. It's a gorgeous place and one we had hoped to take you to enjoy also.
We arrived home to find an olive tree outside the front door, one of a number of wonderful, generous, thoughtful gifts we received from our online friends. We're going to plant it for you, to commemorate your birth. I hope you enjoy looking down on it. I'll be glad to sit in its shade and hear the breeze gently breathing through it, thinking of you.
Our lovely friends also made a book for us, of photographs, poems and dedications to you my boy. We also have a gift of money, which we hope to apply to your list.
So many people are thinking of you, and wishing us all well trying to live without you. Oh, but it's hard darling, though days like this are a little easier and we can smile more in thinking of you, and try and remember these words:
Be still sad heart and cease repining;
Behind the clouds the sun is shining,
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life a little rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.
(Longfellow)
Today there was a little sunshine my boy, and I hope you laughed with the joy of it.
Mummy x
